Banner on Ship - Forest Action Against Antares Freight Ship (Finland: 2007)
Greenpeace activists prevent pulp and paper from being loaded onto the freight ship Antares in the port of Kemi, Northern Finland. The Antares is operated by the shipping company Finnlines. Attached to the ship is a banner reading ' Stop Forest Crime', and an activist in in the water. The pulp and paper originates from tracts of Europe's last remaining ancient forests and is being exported for use in well-known magazines. Greenpeace is demanding governments to set up international laws to ban the trade in destructively or illegally logged wood, and establish large areas of protected forests.
