Blockade Action against Wood Importer
With a giant stump from the Canadian coastal rain forests of the Clayoquot Sound activists protest in front of the Stockerau headquarters of J&A Frischeis, a wood trading company. 30 activists chain themselves to the gate of the company and so block the entry to the premises. Frischeis is one of the biggest Austrian importers of wood from the primeval forests of the tropics, Canada and Russia. The 400 year old stump "Stumpy" has a diameter of two meters at the cut surface and weighs 4 tons. The tree was cut down in 1988 by the Canadian timber company MacMillan Bloedel.

Urwaldbaum blockiert Holzimporteur
