Frischeis is one of the biggest Austrian importers of wood from the primeval forests of the tropics, Canada and Russia. The 400 year old stump "Stumpy" has a diameter of two meters at the cut surface and weighs 4 tons. The tree was cut down in 1988 by the Canadian timber company MacMillan Bloedel.
