For years, the Kenogami and Ogoki Forests in northern Ontario were massively clear-cut, destroying important habitat to threatened wildlife. On August 5, 2009, after 5 years of worldwide protests, scientific and exposé reports, media mobilization, and shareholder engagement, Greenpeace and the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, the world’s largest tissue-product manufacturer, announced a historic agreement to ensure greater protection and sustainable management of Canada's Boreal Forest and other ancient forests around the world.
