He has a bucket containing water which he cups into his hands and raises to symbolise the loss of water in the region. The Pu Mai village depends on the water source from the Rongbuk Glacier Mount Everest (Qomolangma). These Glaciers are one of the prime sources of water feeding into the major rivers of China and India and are receding faster than in any other part of the world as a result of global warming. These villagers are feeling the effects drier conditions and water shortage.Locations:China-East Asia-Himalayas-Pu Mai-TibetDate:1 May, 2007Credit:© Greenpeace / John NovisMaximum size:4992px X 3328pxKeywords:Climate (campaign title)-Climate change-Climate change impacts-Day-Flags-Glacier melt-Global warming-Indigenous People-KWCI (GPI)-Local population-Men-Mountains-One person-OutdoorsShoot:Everest Glacier Expedition in ChinaThe Rongbuk Glaciers are one of the prime sources of water feeding into the major rivers of China and India.
