The Munduruku people have inhabited the Sawré Muybu in the heart of the Amazon, for generations. The Brazilian government plans to build a series of dams in the Tapajos River basin, which would severely threaten their way of life. The Munduruku demand the demarcation of their territory, which would ensure protection from such projects. In addition to preserving their way of life, the demarcation of Sawré Muybu ensures the conservation of 178,000 hectares of Amazon rainforest. In original language:Cacique Juarez Saw MundurukuCacique Juarez Saw Munduruku, da aldeia Sawre Muybu.Locations:Amazon-Brazil-Itaituba-Pará-Sawré Muybu Indigenous Land-South AmericaDate:16 Jul, 2016Credit:© Rogério Assis / GreenpeaceMaximum size:2000px X 1337pxRestrictions:IMAGES OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLE IN BRAZIL MUST NOT BE USED FOR FUNDRAISING PURPOSES.Keywords:Day-Eye contact-Forests (campaign title)-Indigenous People-KWCI (GPI)-Men-One person-Outdoors-Portraits-Rivers-WaterShoot:Munduruku and Greenpeace Demarcate Indigenous Lands in the AmazonThe Munduruku people have inhabited the Sawré Muybu in the heart of the Amazon, for generations. Related Collections:Tapajós River and the Munduruku Indigenous People - Tight Edit (Photos & Videos)Tapajós River and the Munduruku Indigenous People - IPR EDIT (Photos & Videos)Tapajós River and the Munduruku Indigenous People - Full Edit (All Photos & Videos)
