Statt Fortschritt vermerkt Greenpeace jedoch eine folgenschwere Fehlentwicklung. Denn im Treibstoffbereich wachst der C02-Ausstoss ungebremst - entgegen allen Klimaschutzzielen. Deshalb protestiert Greenpeace in Gent mit Autowracks gegen die Kehrseite des privaten Strassenverkehrs und verlangt eine drastische Reduktion der C02-Emissionen. Ab heute, dem Tag, an dem das langersehnte Kyoto-Protokoll endlich in Kraft tritt, muss echter Klimaschutz das Rennen machen. Das kann nur eines heissen: eine substanzielle C02-Abgabe.
