Climate Action Nuon in Amsterdam the Netherlands
Greenpeace activists dump an enormous load of twenty tons of coal outside the Nuon's headquarter in Amsterdam. Greenpeace calls on the energy supplier to choose for clean energy instead of coal-fired power plants. According to the study 'Powering Profits' by research agency SOMO, Nuon produced last year only 5% electricity from clean energy despite all the beautiful advertising. 'Nuon thinks to buy off its pollution by sponsoring of for example Live Earth. The big investments go however to coal instead of clean energy', states Greenpeace Climate, Energy & Forests campaigner Femke Bartels.
