Greenpeace calls on the Dutch Parliament not to agree with the weak energy paper of the government. 'The subsidy for green energy has been stopped and that is inconceivable in this time. To stop the dangerous climate change the government has to invest in sustainable energy from wind, biomass and sun', states Climate & Energy campaigner Joris Thijssen. The activists also hang a banner at the wind turbine reading 'Kabinet wurgt groene stroom', which translates to English as 'Government strangles green energy' and they offer Prime Minister Balkenende a multiple socket that connects with the wind turbine. If the Parliament accepts the energy policy, new gas and coal-fired power plants will arise in the Netherlands. This means more CO2 emissions and more dangerous climate change. Energy saving and positive energy are the only real solutions to protect against climate change. Related Collections: Wind Turbine Action at the Hofvijver in The Hague (Photos & Videos)
