It lies over the northern flanks of Gemsstock above Andermatt. One part of the glacier is covered up with a sheet which should prevent the glacier from melting. The sheet was used in May 2005 the first time. The mountain station Gemsstock, 2963 meters above sea level, is built on permafrost ground. Some years ago the station was renoveted whereby cavities had to be filled with concrete. The further melting of the permafrost can strongly prejudice the stability of the mountain station in the next years. In original language:Gletscherfolie am Gemsstock ob AndermattAndermatt, 28.
