Climbing Action at Muelheim Plant in Germany

Greenpeace action at Muelheim-Kaerlich nuclear power plant near Koblenz, Germany. Activists climbed the 162m high cooling tower and hung a large 20x20m banner reading 'shutdown instead of startup'. The plant was shut down in 1988 for safety reasons but the nuclear power plant's operator RWE has applied to the regional government for an immediate restart of the reactor.

120 Greenpeace activists climbed the fence of the nuclear power plant  Muelheim-Kaerlich, near Koblenz, Germany. They hung a banner on the  162m high cooling tower which read "Shut it down-no restart". A crack was also painted on the reactor.
