Coal Cake for the Polish Minister of Energy in Warsaw
Greenpeace activists gave a huge coal cake with text reading “Congratulations for defending the Polish smog” to the Polish Minister of Energy Krzysztof Tchórzewski. This is a reaction to the judgement of the Court of Justice of the European Union. Due to the lack of effective anti-smog policy, Poland lost the case for infringement of the air quality directive. Minister Tchórzewski delays serious action against smog and doesn't take necessary steps to reduce Polish dependence on coal, a fossil being the first cause of the air pollution in Poland.
