Despite the huge delay in providing irrigation to farmers in Wardha district of Vidarbha, about 40 million cubic metres of water from the dam has been allocated to the upcoming thermal power plant Lanco Vidarbha power limited in 2009. A team of experts visited the status of this project and the power plant under-construction in the region. The visit covered 3 villages, Paloti (under Wardha subdivision), Adegaon and Sonora (both under Deoli sub division) which are a few of the 227 villages that will benefit from the dam.
