Contaminated field in Iitate
Radiation dose rate: 3.8 microsievert an hour / 48 times above normal. The normal rate before the Fukushima nuclear disaster was 0.08 microsieverts an hour.
A contaminated, overgrown field in the village of Iitate. The small village is one of the most contaminated areas outside the 20km exclusion zone around the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant and, due to its rural nature, it is unclear whether it will ever be able to be decontaminated enough to allow residents to return safely.
