Coral Bleaching Investigation in South Taiwan
The temperature of sea waters has continued to rise since May in southern Taiwan. It was reported that corals in some areas had bleached. This is a documentation that records coral bleaching at three diving sites in Kenting in southern Taiwan in August this year, including 5, 10 and 18 meters of depth. The ocean temperature is higher than 28 degrees, reaching a maximum of 31 degrees. Due to climate change and global warming, Taiwan’s corals have become the first victims.

自五月以來,台灣南部的水域溫度持續升高。據報導,一些海洋中的珊瑚已經白化。這些照片記錄了今年八月在台灣南部墾丁的三個潛水地點發生的珊瑚白化現象,包括五米,十米和十八米。海洋溫度皆高於28度,最高可達31度。由於氣候變遷和全球變暖,台灣的珊瑚成為了第一批受害者。
