A lionfish (Pterois miles), an ambush predatory fish, hovers above colonies of sea fan (Melithaea sp.) at an artificial reef site near Pakbara, Satun province, Thailand. A large number of lionfishes as well as groupers and snappers were observed in this area during the recent expedition, suggesting a productive ecosystem, which can support a large number of marine predators.Locations:Andaman Sea-Satun Province-Southeast Asia-ThailandDate:7 Mar, 2017Credit:© Sirachai Arunrugstichai / GreenpeaceMaximum size:4000px X 2670pxKeywords:Corals-Day-Fish-KWCI (GPI)-Lionfish-Oceans (campaign title)-Oceans (topography)-Outdoors-Pink-Reefs-Research-Underwater shotsShoot:Underwater Images in Andaman SeaCollection of underwater shots in the reefs of Koh Ya Kha island in Mu Koh Tarutao National Park of Satun province, Thailand.
