During a non-violent action against the French destroyer Dupleix, to protest against French nuclear testing in the Pacific, French commandos smashed windows and used tear gas to take the Greenpeace vessel Altair by force. The commandos then put the ship into reverse forcing her into the Dupleix and the quayside, causing damage.
