Detox Action at The North Face Store in Hong Kong
Right before the Chinese New Year celebrations take place, Greenpeace activists protest at The North Face store in Hong Kong, urging the outdoor brand to phase out PFCs (poly- and per-fluorinated compounds) from its weatherproof products. A Greenpeace report reveals that hazardous and persistent chemicals, dangerous to human health and the environment, have been found in the products of leading outdoor brands, including The North Face. The companies continue to use PFCs to make their gear waterproof, despite their claims of sustainability and love for nature.
