Detox Mannequins in Zürich Switzerland

Mannequins bearing the Detox campaign logo are placed in several locations in central Zurich. The action is part of the Detox campaign following the publication of the 'Dirty Laundry’ report, publishing the result of a year-long investigation into toxic water pollution caused by the release of hazardous chemicals by the textile industry in China. The investigation focused on two facilities, linked to the production of sport giants Adidas and Nike, that were found to be discharging a range of hazardous and persistent chemicals with hormone-disrupting properties. These results are indicative of a much wider problem that is posing serious and immediate threats to both our precious ecosystems and to human health.
