Mangumbali, candaba, Pampanga 60 KM North of Manila, shows a portion of his rice field, 5 hectares of which can no longer yield crops due to the lack of water. Alabado and the other farmers in the area are experiencing this kind of drought for the very first time. The mobile Water Watch station of Greenpeace found rice fields in North & Central Luzon either totally dry because of the drought brought about by the intense El Niño, or, like this one, grow stalks that would not be able to yield grain. Greenpeace is urging presidential candidates to prioritize the protection of water resources and to carry out climate vulnerabilities & hazards mapping during the first 100 days of their administration.Locations:Central Luzon-Luzon-Philippines-Southeast AsiaDate:20 Apr, 2010Credit:© Alex Baluyut / GreenpeaceMaximum size:3600px X 2400pxKeywords:Children-Climate (campaign title)-Climate change-Climate change impacts-Crops-Day-Drought-Dry-Farmers-Fields-KWCI (GPI)-Local population-Outdoors-Small group of people-WaterShoot:Water Watch: Documentation on Drought in the PhilippinesDrought documentation in La Union, North & Central Luzon, Philippines.Related Collections:Greenpeace Philippines Water Watch
