The vessel tore a hole in its hull en route to the Chukchi Sea in the Alaskan Arctic and was brought to Portland for repair. The climbers, have rappelled off the St. Johns Bridge and blocked Shell's Arctic icebreaking vessel, the MSV Fennica, as it attempted to leave Portland, Oregon. According to the latest federal permit, the Fennica must be at Shell’s drill site before Shell can reapply for federal approval to drill deep enough for oil in the Chukchi Sea.Locations:North America-Oregon-Portland (Oregon)-United States of AmericaDate:30 Jul, 2015Credit:© GreenpeaceDuration:1m32sProduction Type :CLIPREELRestrictions:Drone Footage filmed by Adam Simmons. Because the Fennica carries a mission-critical piece of safety equipment, Shell cannot drill into oil-bearing rock formations until it is fixed and returns to the Arctic.Activists are hanging off the St John's bridge in Portland, Oregon, to stop the Fennica from reaching the Arctic where Shell plans to drill for oil.
