Plogging is a compound word of the Swedish words 'plocka upp' (which means 'to pick up') and 'jogging (English)'.It started in Sweden in 2016 as an activity to pick up trash while jogging. Participants installed a running tracking app and started plogging. They shared their plogging activities on social media and shared their plogging experiences.
