Five Years After the Disaster Rainbow Warrior Sails Past Fukushima Daiichi

Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior sails past Fukushima Daiichi five years after the disaster began, with a net banner with the text ‘HOPE’ to honor the victims of the Fukushima catastrophe. There are still today nearly 100000 people displaced as a result of radiation contamination.

Rainbow Warrior Tours Fukushima 5 Years After Nuclear Accident

On occasion of the 5th anniversary of the nuclear accident in Fukushima, Greenpeace carries out an underwater research tour monitoring the radiation impacts on the underwater life. Greenpeace nuclear experts work with a ROV (remotely operated vehicle), an under water camera and special testing equipment.
