On the occasion of the annual general meeting of the energy company Uniper, a broad civil society alliance of local and international activists, representatives of Fridays For Future and the environmental protection organization Greenpeace protest against the commissioning of the coal-fired power plant Datteln 4 on May 20, 2020. Uniper plans to put into operation on summer 2020. The climate activists paddle canoes on the canal in front of the coal-fired power plant, four swimmers survival suits spread a 4x3 meter swimming banner with the inscription "Shut it Down! #StopDatteln4".

Schwimmender Protest gegen Inbetriebnahme von Datteln 4
Anlaesslich der Jahreshauptversammlung des Energiekonzerns Uniper protestierte am 20. Mai 2020 ein breites zivilgesellschaftliches Buendnis aus lokalen und internationalen Aktivist*innen, Vertreter*innen von Fridays For Future und der Umweltschutzorganisation Greenpeace gegen die Inbetriebnahme des Steinkohlekraftwerks Datteln 4, das Uniper in wenigen Wochen ans Netz nehmen möchte. Mit Kanus paddeln die Klimaaktivist*innen auf dem Kanal vor dem Kohlekraftwerk, vier Schwimmer*innen in Ueberlebensanzuegen breiteten ein 4x3 Meter großes Schwimmbanner mit der Aufschrift “Shut it Down! #StopDatteln4” aus.
