Locations:Europe, East Europe, Alpine Countries-St. Margrethen-SwitzerlandDate:7 Mar, 2002Credit:© Ex-PressMaximum size:1956px X 1255pxRestrictions:Images ok for use in all Greenpeace campaigns, products and brochures. They climbed on the roof of the company to unfold a huge banner reading „Stopp Urwaldzerstörung“ („Stop Ancient Forest Destruction“). The entrance of the premises was occupied with a giant chainsaw. In recent years, ‘Bauwerk’ has used tropical wood for its products, including some endangered species. Greenpeace can prove that ‘Bauwerk’ imported wood of Cameroonian firms (Mbah Mbah Georges (MMG) and Société Forestière et Industrielle de la Doumé (SFID) that are involved in illegal activities. Therefore Greenpeace demands ‘Bauwerk’ to refrain from purchasing wood without a credible certificate.
