Greenpeace protests against the imports of old-growth timber from the Great Bear Rain Forest in Canada's western province of British Colombia. According to Forests campaigner Just van den Broek the Vlissingen harbour is only the beginning of the chain. Greenpeace will also target the end-users of the wood, including construction firms and architects. 'Greenpeace's argument isn't against Saga. We want a change in the Dutch government policy. About 40,000 cubic metres of the wood is shipped to the Netherlands annually', he states.
