Local citizens, sport fishers, divers, students, and activists gather for the funeral of the Vejle Fjord, a body of water off the coast of Jutland in Denmark. The fjord is symbolically laid to rest in a coffin, funeral rites and readings are spoken, psalms are sung , a tombstone with inscription is displayed, and a wake ensues.

The Fjord has suffered from high levels of nitrogen emissions from the agriculture sector, causing oxygen depletion. There are almost no fish left in the Fjord. Greenpeace is calling urgently on politicians to take immediate action to restore local marine ecosystems to balance the Danish sea environment.
