GE Action at Ravenna's Harbour in Italy

Greenpeace climbers hanging a banner reading 'No to GMO food' in Italian, from the Docks of Cereali silos, Ravenna, Italy. Seventy Greenpeace activists cordoned off the area of two companies Docks Cereal and Eurodocks and displayed banners declaring 'Europe says no to GMOs' and 'No to GE Food'. They uncovered thousands of tonnes of Genetically Engineered (GE) soya in warehouses in the Italian port of Ravenna. Recent samples taken from one of the warehouses have proven to be GE positive. Activists from Italy, Spain, Austria, Finland, Denmark and Norway were preventing any GE soya from leaving the facility and were taking further samples.
