With this action Greenpeace tries to prevent a GATT-astrophe, to increase public attention to this scandalous procedure and to encourage people to speak up against patents on life.Genf, 8. Oktober 1990 – Aktivisten der Umweltschutorganisation Greenpeace Schweiz erkletterten das GATT-Gebäude in Genf und entrollten ein Tranpsarent mit der Aufschrift ‚GATT – No Patents on Life’ (keine Patente auf Leben).Im Internationalen Zoll- und Handelsabkommen ist beabsichtigt, lebende Wesen unter Patentschutz zu stellen. Durch die Hintertür versuchen Chemie- und Biotechindustrie Patentsschutz für gentechnisch manipulierte Pflanzen und Tier zu erschleichen.
