Greenpeace is very pleased with the decision by the Federal Office for Environment, Forests and Landscape (BUWAL), to reject the experimental cultivation of GE maize and potatoes. With today's decision, BUWAL takes a step in the right direction - in favor of sustainable agriculture and against a genetically engineered agriculture. The banner is reading in German: "Gentech freies Essen" (GE free food).

Gentechnik Aktion in Bern

Genetic Egineering Action BUWAL Decision in Bern Switzerland
Greenpeace is very pleased with the decision by the Federal Office for Environment, Forests and Landscape (BUWAL), to reject the experimental cultivation of GE maize and potatoes. Obviously, the BUWAL has taken the numerous concerns against the unnecessary and dangerous genetic experiments, which were submitted by Greenpeace, seriously. With today's decision, BUWAL takes a step in the right direction - in favour of sustainable agriculture and against a genetically engineered agriculture.
