Sows in the small, narrow gestation cages at factory farms for pigs in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Greenpeace publicizes the situation of the unlawful practice of keeping sows in cages that are not large enough for the animals to lie down, stretch or turn around without obstructing the neighbouring sows. Greenepeace therefore demands larger cages.

Sauen in Massentierhaltungsbetrieben in einigen deutschen Bundeslaendern, hier in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Die Tiere werden in Kastenstaenden gehalten, die sehr klein und schmal sind.
Greenpeace macht die Zustaende oeffentlich und fordert groessere Kastenstaende fuer die Tiere. Sie muessten so groß sein, dass die Sau ungestoert ruhen, sich ausstrecken und hinlegen kann ohne das Nachbarschwein zu behindern.

Greenpeace reports five agricultural farms in Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for keeping mother sows in cages in violation of animal welfare laws.
Greenpeace goes public to show the situation of the unlawful practice of keeping sows in cages that are not large enough for the animals to lie down, stretch or turn around without obstructing the neighbouring sows and demands that operators abide by the Animal Welfare Act. That means larger gestation cages for the pigs.
