The peaceful demonstration organized by Fridays for Future Athens and the student movement started and finished at the main square of the city, Syntagma square, in front of the Greek parliament. At the end of the demonstration, the students held a minute of silence outside the parliament. The students demand from the government to listen to the scientists and act immediately to keep global temperature at 1,5°C, promoting climate justice. Words are not enough. It is time to act. Other school strikes also took place in major Greek cities, such as Thessaloniki, Kalamata, Serres and Chania. On the 27th of September, they expect us all to participate at the next strike and unite our voices with them.Locations:Athens-Europe-GreeceDate:20 Sep, 2019Credit:© Evgenia Choros / GreenpeaceMaximum size:5472px X 3648pxRestrictions:NO FUNDRAISINGKeywords:Actions and protests-Activists-Climate (campaign title)-Climate change-Day-Demonstrations-KWCI (GPI)-Outdoors-People-Signs-Students-Young adultsShoot:Global Climate Strike March in GreeceSchool strike in Athens, Greece, with the participation of approximately 2.000-2.500 students, in a rough estimation.
