Greenpeace Examines Soil and Water in German Flood Areas

Water on which an oily film floats is seen on a field affected by the recent flooding. Greenpeace collects and analyzes water and soil samples in the area around Blessem, a heavily damaged district of Erftstadt. Greenpeace is active in the North Rhine-Westphalian disaster area with a mobile laboratory container. The samples are processed on site and then handed over to certified laboratories for further analysis. Areas of investigation are children's playgrounds and sports fields, private gardens, fields and temporary waste disposal sites.
