On the night of the 8th of September, the Greenpeace Russia firefighting team were attacked in their camp in the South of Russia. The attackers had sliced through tents, damaged vehicles, threw a stun grenade in one of the cars, and stole valuable equipment.The Greenpeace Russia team had arrived in the Krasnodar region on the 5th of September to help local authorities and environmental activists to fight against wildfires, as the authorities failed to prevent or limit the wildfires in the area. A Greenpeace Russia staff member, Michael Kreindlin, had suffered a broken nose and a concussion whilst a volunteer from the Trans-Baikal Territory, Andrey Polomoshnov, likely sustained a rib fracture. They were administered medical assistance.
