On Tuesday 17th October at ca.11.30 am an explosion happened at BASF chemical plant in Ludwigshafen during work at a pipeline. Fire and smoke were seen over the whole area at the river Rhein. In the north harbour of BASF flamable liquids and nitrous gases are transshipped.

Greenpeace Experte Manfred Santen am Chemieunfall in Ludwigshafen. Am Dienstag, um ca. 11.30 kam es im BASF Chemiewerk zu einer Explosion waehrend Arbeiten an einer Rohrtrasse. Feuer und Rauch zogen ueber die Stadt. Im Landeshafen Nord werden nach BASF-Angaben brennbare Fluessigkeiten und unter Druck verfluessigte Gase umgeschlagen.
