If the planned agreement with the South American states will come to a conclusion, tariffs on pesticides that are also exported from Germany will drop. This is likely to increase their sales even further. Numerous ingredients are banned in the EU.

Zum internationalen Tag der Artenvielfalt demonstrieren Greenpeace-Ehrenamtliche in mehr als 30 Deutschen Städten wie Hamburg, Ulm und Köln für einen Stopp des EU-Mercosur Handelsabkommens. An Infoständen fordern sie “Detox now! Jetzt Handel entgiften, Peter Altmaier!”.

Kommt das geplante Abkommen mit den südamerikanischen Staaten zum Abschluss, sinken die Zölle auf Pestizide, die auch aus Deutschland exportiert werden. Dies dürfte deren Absatz noch steigern. Zahlreiche Wirkstoffe sind in der EU verboten.
