Helheim and Kangerdlugssuaq Glaciers
The Helheim and Kangerdlugssuaq glaciers of Greenland. The MY Arctic Sunrise and her crew are facilitating the field work of oceanographers from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, in order to calculate the impact of ocean warming on east Greenland's outlet glaciers. The scientists are keen to ascertain whether subglacial melting may be driven by contact with subtropical water - a field where little research exists.
