The damage was caused by wild elephants in a sudden night attack a month ago. As the expansion of coal mining increasingly engulfs the forest area in Chhattisgarh region, India, wild elephants are loosing their habitat and suffering from shortage of food. As a result, sudden entry of herds of elephants to the village areas in search of food is becoming almost a regular matter.
