The Berg is approximately 20 miles from the Cairn Stena Forth drill ship. A huge logistical operation is performed to drag icebergs away from the drilling area. Any icebergs that come within 25kms of the drilling platforms are hosed down to melt them or are dragged away. Cairn have eight vessels working on this full time but more and more icebergs appear on the horizon in what is commonly known as 'Iceberg Alley'.Locations:Arctic Ocean-GreenlandDate:26 Aug, 2010Credit:© Will Rose / GreenpeaceMaximum size:8424px X 5616pxKeywords:Cairn Energy-Climate (campaign title)-Ice-Icebergs-Icescapes-KWCI (GPI)-Oceans (campaign title)-Tugboats-WhiteShoot:Esperanza Go Beyond Oil ExpeditionGreenpeace 'Go Beyond Oil' ship tour, exposes and confronts the oil industry's race to develop deep sea drilling for oil in order to avoid environmental disasters like the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
