This nature reserve (zakaznik) is protected by two international conventions: “On wetlands” (Ramsar Convention) and “On the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Baltic Sea Area”.One of the rigs worked in the water protective zone of the Narva Bay. One more rig was discovered in the forest, a few kilometers from the shore.Local fishermen said that recently they have repeatedly seen the floating rig which worked in the sea. Conduction of such works is strictly prohibited by the Russian legislation and by International agreements that were signed by Russia.Locations:Eastern Europe-Kurgalsky Nature Reserve-Leningradskaya-RussiaDate:31 Aug, 2016Credit:© GreenpeaceDuration:1m4sAudio format:NaturalProduction Type :PIECE TO CAMERAKeywords:Forests (campaign title)-Greenpeace staff-KWCI (GPI)-Men-Natural gas-One personShoot:Illegal Construction of Nord Stream 2 Pipeline in RussiaNord Stream 2 will be a twin pipeline system running from Russia to Europe across the Baltic Sea.Representatives of Greenpeace and “Green World” (local NGO) discovered the operating drilling rigs inside the valuable protected area named “Kurgalsky”.
