In August 2016 a team from Greenpeace Russia visits the construction area in Taymyr peninsula, Siberia, and documents a number of environmental violations. Russian Independent Petroleum Company plans to construct the Tanalau terminal near the Baykalovsk village on the Yenisei River. Greenpeace Russia experts believe that due to difficult weather conditions there is a significant risk of accidents and oil spills, which can inflict irreparable damage on the fragile Arctic environment.
