The environmentalists demand to ban the toxic microplastic particles known as microbeads. Young volunteers swim with a banner that reads:" Protect the oceans. No plastics in cosmetics!" Microbeads are found in products such as facial scrubs and toothpaste, millions of the tiny plastics are flushed unwittingly into the world’s oceans every year where they ultimately end up in the marine food chain. Too small to be filtered by most water treatment systems, the particles end up in rivers and oceans , harming marine life and polluting the entire ecosystem.
