Kayaktivist Training during Arctic Sunrise Tour in Virginia

Greenpeace activists run a kayak activists training, culminating with the display of a No Offshore Oil Drilling For VA., in front of the Arctic Sunrise. Greenpeace’s historic Arctic Sunrise was in Norfolk, Virginia as it continues a month long tour along the Atlantic Coast highlighting threats to our oceans and climate. The tour focus is on the urgent issue of single-use plastics and microplastics in our waters, and the need to protect our coasts and climate from seismic blasting and offshore oil drilling. The tour is also supporting an effort led by climate justice allies to deliver critical rebuilding supplies to rural communities in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria’s devastating impacts to the region.
