The decision was celebrated by Khao Hin Son anti-coal network, an anti-coal group fighting for around seven years to stop this coal plant project. The protest came after the ONEP's environmental expert panel met for a fourth time to deliberate on the Environmental and Health Impact Assessment (EHIA) report of the 600-megawatt coal power plant in Chachoengsao province. The 600-MW coal plant proposal was submitted by the National Power Supply Company – subsidiary of one of the biggest pulp and paper companies in Thailand “Double A”.
