Lake Michigan Oil Spill at BP's Whiting Refinery

Cleanup crews work along the Lake Michigan shoreline near the BP Whiting Refinery in Whiting, Indiana to recover crude oil discharged from the refinery. Coast Guard pollution responders were on scene to monitor the ongoing recovery efforts with the EPA and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, as a helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City, Mich., conducted an overflight to assess the extent of the discharge.
