Baden-Wuerttemberg does not have a designated large nature reserve for the forest. Only in a National Park can rare animals and plants thrive undisturbed. In large uncultivated reserves the forests can regulate themselves and acclimatise appropriately. Particularly older and well established forests can absorb and store CO2 effectively.
