Lawsuit against VW in Detmold
The first part of the lawsuit of the organic farmer against VW AG, supported by Greenpeace, will be publicly heard on May 20 by the 1st Civil Chamber at the Detmold Regional Court (Case No. 1 O 199/21). The plaintiff claims that VW, as the second largest car manufacturer in the world, is partly responsible for considerable damage to his farm in the Lippe district and the associated forest. VW is also exacerbating the climate crisis by selling millions of climate-damaging cars, thus causing future losses.
Climate activists and farmers from the Arbeitsgemeinschaft bäuerliche Landwirtschaft (AbL) and Bioland are supporting the plaintiff with a demonstration.

Klage gegen VW in Detmold
