Few visitors are seen at the plazas, office buildings and amusement park at Lianyun Development, in Lianyungang, Jiangsu province. There are rumors that a prestigious primary school will open in the area, but many who live nearby are skeptical that this will come to fruition. The development was built over a sensitive wetland habitat and remains largely unoccupied.
