Greenpeace activists create light paintings in front of the Dangjin Coal Power Plants.
Dangjin city already has the world's largest operating coal plants now (10 units 6,040mw). Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and SK Gas plans to build 1,160mw of new additional coal plants next to Dangjin Coal Power Plants. Over 40% of Dangjin citizens oppose new coal plants according to the survey Greenpeace East Asia Seoul recently conducted. Dangjin local groups are preparing people’s referendum to stop this. Dangjin Citizens join the Breakfree to stop the climate change.
