Local Activists Call to Save Recycled Paper Mill in France

The organizations of the "Plus jamais ça" collective and representatives of the paper mill employees occupied the square in front of the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Paris to ask Bruno Le Maire to guarantee the full safeguarding of the Chapelle-Darblay paper mill.

120 activists, trade unionists and employee representatives took over the square in front of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and unfurled two 15-meter long banners to question Bruno Le Maire.

This paper mill is the only factory in France capable of producing 100% recycled newsprint. Providing 750 direct and indirect jobs in the Rouen area, this model of ecological industry has been shut down since May 6, 2020 and is about to be definitively closed on June 15.
